Zotac’s RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Black Edition is the best RTX 4070 Ti SUPER option out of all of the cards that we’ve tested. This triple-fan card offers excellent thermals, sports a sleek black design, is a strong performer within 1440p and 4K games, all while coming in at MSRP. It can be difficult to find such an excellent card at MSRP pricing, which is why the Zotac Trinity Black Edition variant of the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER stands out.

The Zotac Gaming RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Trinity Black Edition stood out to us as the best RTX 4070 Ti SUPER for a number of reasons. The first of which is thermals. This triple-fan design utilises Zotac’s renowned IceStorm 2.0 cooling system, ensuring heat is dissipated efficiently through 9 copper heatpipes. The centre fan is also rotating in the opposite direction to the left and right fans, which reduces turbulence and minimises noise levels, providing smoother airflow while under load.

In terms of aesthetic, the Zotac Trinity model of the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER offers a sleek grey/black shrouding which can be seen on the front of the card. RGB lighting is also a mainstay on this particular GPU, with five zones of RGB situated around the entire card, offering plenty of customisable flair.

The Zotac Trinity version of the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER does sit at 306mm in length. This is one of the smaller alternative model cards, which means most modern cases shouldn’t have any issues supporting this card.

In terms of pricing, the Zotac Trinity variant of the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is one of the few cards to sit at MSRP. There’s no Founders Edition with this particular range, so the options are a bit more limited if you’re looking for an MSRP card. It is worth noting that because the Zotac Gaming RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Trinity Black Edition sits at MSRP, stocks aren’t guaranteed to last, making it a bit harder to find after the initial launch.

MSI’s RTX 4070 Ti SUPER VENTUS 3X is another MSRP option geared towards the price conscious buyer. Much like the Zotac Trinity variant, the MSI VENTUS 3X ticks a lot of boxes for those looking to pick up an RTX 4070 Ti SUPER at a reasonable price point. The main features to note with this particular card are the slight enhancement to the boost clock speed and triple-fan design.

The small overclock to the boosting capability of this GPU will provide some performance enhancements across a multitude of games, improving framerates in numerous titles. On the thermals front, the MSI RTX 4070 Ti SUPER VENTUS 3X utilises MSI’s TORX Fan 4.0, providing more airflow and stronger heat dissipation. Deflectors around the heatsink of this card guide air to all of the areas it is needed, ensuring optimal cooling, even under load.

Core Clock Speed2.34GHz

Admittedly, the MSI VENTUS 3X variant of the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER isn’t much larger than the Zotac Trinity model, coming in with a length of 308mm. While clearance will still be an issue in some smaller cases, the vast majority of modern chassis will accommodate this GPU with minimal installation issues.

I think the biggest weakness of the MSI RTX 4070 Ti SUPER VENTUS 3X is the rather simplistic and plastic design. The front shrouding of the MSI VENTUS 3X variant sports a silver colouring that contrasts against the brushed metal backplate, and struggles to blend in with a dark-themed PC build.

The plastic around the front of the card also feels quite cheap, taking away from what could be a premium looking design. While I do like the MSI VENTUS 3X variant when it comes to the features, the aesthetic won’t appeal to some buyers.

3. Palit RTX 4070 Ti SUPER JetStream OC

Original Review by Aled Wheeler: Palit RTX 4070 Ti SUPER JetStream OC Review & Benchmarks

Palit’s JetStream OC version of the RTX 4070 Ti is a performance-focused design, prioritising thermals and airflow. This non-MSRP card features a huge shroud and heatsink designed to keep thermals at bay while under load. The Gale Hunter Fans ensure air is pushed to the thermal module quickly and quietly, keeping your temperatures low and minimising any whine or fan buzzing. The ‘0-dB’ tech also keeps the fans silent during general workloads further keeping noise levels to a minimum.

On the design front, the Palit RTX 4070 Ti SUPER JetStream OC offers a stealthy black shroud, with geometric patterns covering the front of the card. The top and rear of this Palit JetStream OC variant also feature the same black colouring, contributing to a rather sleek and sophisticated look. This card will blend in with dark-themed systems, and although the overarching aesthetic is quite simple, this minimalist style will appeal to many buyers.

Size does become a bigger concern with this particular model. With a length of 328mm, clearance problems will crop up with some smaller cases.

Unfortunately the Palit JetStream OC variant of the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is not an MSRP card. The RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is already a pricey option as it is. For this reason, savvy buyers will want to consider alternative options that come in at the MSRP launch price.

4. Gigabyte AORUS RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Master

Original Review by Jay Harris: Gigabyte AORUS RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Master Review & Benchmarks

Gigabyte’s AORUS RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Master is the cream of the crop when it comes to performance, thermals, and aesthetic. This AORUS Master variant sports a huge shroud, alongside a triple-fan design that is ideal for those conscious of their thermals. The AORUS Master utilises Gigabyte’s signature WINDFORCE cooling system, featuring three 108mm fans, with the centre fan alternatively spinning which improves airflow and pressure. The larger surface surface area of the heatsink also aids with heat dissipation too.

In terms of design, the AORUS Master is one of the best looking cards on the market, sporting a plethora of futuristic etchings and livery across the front shroud of the card. Each fan offers a ring of RGB around the edge, providing some more flair and customisable lighting for your PC build. The top and rear of the card continue the RGB theme with the AORUS logos lighting up the darker style of this GPU.

As you can probably imagine, the biggest caveats of the Gigabyte AORUS RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Master are the price, and the size. The AORUS Master variant is one of the more expensive alternatives on the market, coming in well above MSRP. On the size front, the AORUS Master has a length of 342mm which means you’ll need to carefully consider your case options before purchasing.

RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Benchmarks

Alan Wake 2

Settings: 1440p, Post-Processing High, Texture Resolution High, Texture Filtering High, Volumetric Lighting High, Global Illumination Quality High, Shadow Detail High, Terrain Quality High, Ray-Tracing: Disabled, DLSS: On/Off, Frame Generation: On/Off

In Alan Wake 2 we ran two separate benchmarks, one with DLSS and ray tracing enabled, and one without. Without these settings turned on, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER was able to hit a very reasonable 85FPS at 1440p high settings. Performance is slightly diminished in this title versus other games, and this comes down to the lack of optimisations and the intensity of this title. But despite this, the 85FPS average we saw with the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER was very stable.

With ray tracing and DLSS enabled, framerates surged past the 100FPS mark, with a 119 frame average. The only card that was able to beat out the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER was the RTX 4080. Overall we were impressed with the performance that the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER offered in this title, and there are some clear performance benefits to owning an NVIDIA GPU within modern titles like Alan Wake II.

Apex Legends

Settings: 1440p, Anti-aliasing TSAA, Texture Filtering 8X, Model Detail High, VSync Disabled, Effects High, Ambient Occlusion Quality High

In Apex Legends at 1440p high settings, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER offered up an average of 256FPS, placing it in between the RX 6950 XT, and RTX 4080. Ultimately at framerates this high, the difference in performance between cards is going to be relatively negligible, but the overall metrics are still pretty impressive.

The RX 7900 XT is worth highlighting in this benchmark, as there’s a 7FPS increase. Again this wouldn’t be a particularly noticeable boost, but as the RX 7900 XT is a cheaper card with more VRAM, it is worth taking note of.

Cyberpunk 2077

Settings: 1440p, Shadow Quality High, Indirect Lighting High, Reflections High, Crowd Density High, Particle Quality High, Volumetric Lighting High, Motion Blur off, GTAO Quality High, Grass Quality High, Contact Shadows High VSync Off, DLSS/FSR: On/Off, Ray Tracing: On/Off, Textures: High

Much like in Alan Wake 2, we ran two separate benchmarks with DLSS and ray tracing on and off. With these settings turned on, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER was able to offer up 103FPS, which is a singular frame above the RTX 4070 SUPER. Ray traced gameplay is generally more intensive than rasterized, hence why we’ seeing a slightly low framerate.

With ray tracing and DLSS disabled, performance leapt up to 124FPS, which is a strong average from the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER. Again, the performance increase wouldn’t be hugely noticeable here, but its good to see that the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is nearing that all-important 144Hz mark

F1 2022

Settings: 1440p, Ray Tracing Quality Medium, Lighting Quality Ultra High, Post Process High, Shadows Ultra Hight, Weather Effects Ultra High, Ambient Occlusion HBAO+, Asynchronous Compute On, Texture Streaming Ultra High, Anisotropic Filtering 8x, DLSS: Enabled

In F1 2022 the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER yet again dominates at 1440p, sitting towards the top of the graph with a 284FPS average. F1 2022 isn’t the most intense title, but it is worth keeping in mind that this benchmark run is with ray tracing enabled, so visual fidelity is being pushed much further. DLSS is definitely putting in some work here, which is one of the major NVIDIA GPU benefits worth considering if you’re looking to max out your FPS.
