Black Friday has officially arrived. We’ve been covering the best deals in the run up to the big day with a number of articles pointed towards specific components and manufacturers too. These deals are well worth looking into if you’re looking to build a brand new PC from scratch, or if you’re looking to upgrade your setup with some different peripherals or components. ASUS is one of the many manufacturers offering a range of great deals across all of their product SKUs, including monitors, components, peripherals, gaming laptops, and more.
There is a myriad of deals to choose from on Black Friday, but we’ve decided to slim down the list, and pick out a few of our favourites, providing you with a more concise roundup. All of these deals can be found on Newegg, but there are likely to be similar prices and offerings from different vendors in other regions.
ASUS ROG STRIX Scope RX TKL Wireless Deluxe is $50 Off
The ROG STRIX Scope is an excellent tri-mode connectivity keyboard, and is a personal favourite of mine. Since this keyboard arrived in the GeekaWhat office it has been my daily driver, because it is one of the smoothest prebuilt keyboards that you can buy, without delving into the custom market. The RX red optical linear switches provide a smooth and unhindered feel that is ideal for both typing and gaming. The keycaps used are also double shot PBT, and provide a textured ‘grip’ feel to them, which is great for longer sessions of usage.
Consumers can choose between three connectivity modes (wired, 2.4GHz, and Bluetooth), making it ideal for both portable and stationary setups. Not to mention the wrist rest is a premium cushioned leather that magnetises to the keyboard, minimising any strain during usage. This keyboard will also remain a favourite of mine, and is definitely worth taking a look at if you’re willing to shell out a little bit more for a peripheral.

Save up to $350 on the ROG Maximus Z690 Hero
The ROG Maximus Z690 Hero was one of the best high-end motherboards to release with the launch of Intel’s 12th-Gen CPUs. This motherboard has been a mainstay in a number of top-end builds and a worthwhile consideration for those building an enthusiast-level system. ASUS have knocked off around $350 from the total price, making it an extremely competitive option for those building a new Intel system, or for those that need an upgrade to a stronger board.
In terms of features and design, the Z690 Hero is heavily specced out with plenty of RGB, ports, slots, and more. An area worth highlighting in particular is the rear IO. Consumers can leverage 11 ports in total, two of which are Thunderbolt 4, designed to bring high transfer speeds. The Z690 Hero also offers 2.5 Gigabit LAN, and WiFi 6E for its wired and wireless networking options.

TUF Gaming Z790-Plus WiFi D4 21% Off
ASUS TUF motherboards are big competition in the budget and mid-range motherboard space due to their well-rounded price points, and solid feature-sets. The TUF Z790-Plus in particular is an excellent DDR4 motherboard that puts a big focus on expansion and connectivity. This board provides consumers with a Gen5 PCI-E slot, ready for the next generation of graphics cards when they release, alongside four Gen4 M.2 slots for storage options.
Looking at ports and networking, the TUF Z790-Plus has a set of eight ports to choose from on the rear IO, all of which are high speed options, with no USB 2.0 in sight. For networking, this board offers 2.5 Gigabit LAN and WiFi 6. It is a bit of a shame that WiFi 6E isn’t on this particular board, but based on the price, I can’t imagine many consumers will see this as a deal-breaker.
